The history
Our story
From humble origins in the egg business to a full-service ranch, wildlife, and outdoor destination—complete with our gun showroom—we’re proud to be so much more than just a feed store.
1928 – in the beginning
Clarence Mumme Sr. started what would become Mumme’s with a single brood of 100 laying chicks. Through decades of dedication and hard work, that modest venture grew—and by the late 1960s, it had expanded into one of the largest agricultural businesses in South Central Texas.
Today – into the future
Today, Mumme’s operates two major grain-receiving facilities alongside full-service retail stores in Hondo and Pearsall. Fast, efficient grain processing has made us the leading elevator in Medina and surrounding counties, serving working farms, local ranches, the Texas wildlife industry, and outdoor enthusiasts.
